We have dogs that have won

but in our opinion, showing is not the way to prove a dogs true worth!

OUR STUD DOGS ARE ALL DNA TESTED FOR CEA, PRA, MDR1, DM and DMS
Several of our stud dogs are clear non carriers of cea and mdr1, all of them are non carrier of dm and pra.
We are testing all breeding stock using the dms test, this will provide us with information regarding the immune system thus enabling us to avoid unknowingly further depleting the immune system of the breed, we care about maintaining diversity levels.
Once we place a dog at public stud, it will have all dna test results recorded with the KC.
Any puppies born here are comprehensibly dna tested unless we already know the result by inheritance; and all health test results of either the puppy or its parents are supplied to new owners. We make sure through dna testing that all puppies born in our kennel are unaffected by cea and dm, and none of our puppies carry two copies of the mdr1 deletion gene mutation.
cea DNA clear dogs do NOT develop coloboma. If anyone tells you differently, ask them to prove it by showing you a dna clear dog that has one!

Below is WICANI BLUE MYRABELLA 'Mabel' age 11 months. A daughter of Wicani Cloak and Dagger she made her show debut at the Yorkshire Collie Club open show and went BEST IN SHOW and BEST PUPPY IN SHOW.
I have spent a lifetime loving, studying and enjoying this breed. All of our dogs are fully health tested, we are presently testing for diversity in the immune system allele so that we can continue to work tirelessly toward maintaining the diversity that is essential if the breed is to survive. When we breed it is for LOVE. We prefer our dogs to be known as Old-time Scottish Collies, because we have always bred collies to fit the breed standard (which hasn't changed very much since 1910) and we do not pander to changing fashions. We aim to retain working qualities and although we intend to keep improving the breed we love, we want to improve without losing their true identity! Some of our dogs herd cattle and sheep, some track, some are stars in the agility arena, some are Show Champions, but most are happy intelligent family dogs.
UK Champion Churchoak Temptress at Wicani 'Jezebel'
At EACA our stunning blue bitch 'Jezebel' won her third Challenge certificate and gained her Crown. She is the very first UK Champion to have an American born sire. Her sire is Van-M Good Fellow at Wicani and her dam is Polish Champion Wicani Lights of Amethyst. Thank you to the three breed specialist judges that awarded her three challenge certificates (3 cc) Mr Steve Barratt (Brooklynson) Mrs Viv Anderton (Karava) and Mrs Edith Pryor (Aqualita) and to the judges who awarded her reserve challenge certificates (res.cc) during her career. Mrs Bev White (Manerick) Mrs Valerie Geddes (Ingledene) Mrs Roz MacDonald (Rossavon) and Mr Steve Barratt (Brooklynson)
She is now retired from the show ring but her gorgeous cea non carrier tricolour son is available at stud.
Versatile WICANI COLLIES enjoy life whatever it throws at them. Rough Collies from our bloodlines are proving themselves apt in agility, in the show ring, in herding and as family pets...and especially with children!
The vast majority of our puppies are unaffected by CEA ( collie eye anomaly) results are dna proven * we can now tell you the mdr1 status of every puppy bred here * we never produce puppies affected by degenerative myelopathy * we dna test our puppies and breeding adults !
We breed to the original UK breed standard, and we strive to produce Rough Collies of traditional type, unchanged by fads and fashion...bred to be FIT FOR FUNCTION and FIT FOR LIFE.
